A Step In The Right Direction
If you follow me on Twitter (shoebytes) you may have seen a tweet or two regarding run club. Some of you have asked so I thought I would expand on what the Shoebuy-ers have been up to for the past few weeks. For the second year Shoebuy is participating in the JPMorgan Corporate Challenge we were excited to learn that we will again be running in support of Camp Harbor View, a day camp that serves over 600 children every summer. However, we were more excited to learn that we could avoid our untimely demise through training runs sponsored by our friends at adidas and City Sports.
The training runs are every Tuesday after work and give us a chance to not only prepare for the race but to hang out with our awesome coworkers. Over the past couple of weeks we have had a core group of three (Marie, Kurt, and me) but word is getting out that the training runs are a good time and this week we had our largest turnout yet:

Left to right: Megan, Daniel, Kathryn, Marie, Kurt, Kaitlin
(Not pictured: Trisha. She was busy shopping)
With a choice of 2.5 (up from 1.8 last week!), 3.5, and 5-mile routes, the training runs are no joke but even though the folks at adidas work us hard it never fails to make us smile:

Also smile worthy are the raffles held after the run in which occasionally the Shoebuy crew cleans house:

But the best part of run club is hanging out with the Shoebuy crew over a pint and a basket of chips after training. Because really what says physical fitness more than Guinness?
