Boots for Wider Calves
If I’ve heard it once, I’ve heard it a million times…”where can I find boots made for women with wide calves?” With boot season officially in full-swing, women everywhere are prowling online shoe sites and shoe stores for the perfect pair of boots. Many women, however, will find the boot of their dreams only to realize that they they can’t fit in them because of their wider calves (been there, done that). My solution: stretch boots. Whether you want them in suede, leather or man-made materials, stretch boots may be the best thing that ever happened to boots. Plus, they’re so much more comfortable thanks to their pliable nature.
Here are some fantastic boots that are either stretch, or made specifically to accomodate for wider calves:
Naturalizer Vander Plus (black leather): A sleek, tailored boot that features the Plus Shaft, a wider 11″ shaft with a 16″ circumference to accommodate fuller calves with greater ease anc comfort. Leather uppers and a lightly padded footbed. Finally, fashion conforms to you! 2″ heel.
J. Renee Nadine (available in black & brown): Sexy eelskin knee high boot with a pointed toe and a cushioned insole. Its smooth, sleek look makes it great for the office or a night out on the town! 14″ shaft circumference, 14.5″ shaft height, 2 3/4″ heel height.
Aerosoles High Stride (available in brown & black): Think tall for fall. This fabulous fashion boot in faux leather stretches to fit the contours of your calf. It features an elastic gore for pull-on ease and an extra-cushioned insole for added comfort. Leg openings for these boots range from 6 3/8″ for a size 5, to 7″ for a size 7.5, to 8″ for a size 12. Shaft heights are as follows: sizes 5 – 7.5 are 13 5/8″ to 14 5/8″, sizes 8 – 11 are 14 6/8″ to 15 6/8″, size 12 is 16″.

Unfortunately there aren’t any brands out there that cater specifically to women with skinny calves (why? i have no idea), but based on my experience in shoe retail, I have found that boots that are made of stretch fabrics, especially stretch leathers, fit skinny calves the best. Again, the best fit depends on the height of your arch as well; if you have a very high instep, then stretch boots can be a pain to get in and out of, but if that’s not a problem, you’ll find them to fit quite nicely. Also, look for boots with slightly higher quality materials; they are made with smaller circumferances. Thanks for bringing my attention to this; I’ll keep an eye out for anything I find that would help you, but until then, good luck!

I have been asked by alot of women where to find boots for wider calves so this is helpful. Thanks for the info!
But, us with skinny legs also have trouble finding boots that fit well too. Any info you have on that will be great.
