Happy Mardi Gras!
Happy Mardi Gras everybody! February 16th is Fat Tuesday this year, and guess what? It’s also my Birthday! So celebrate both occasions with Shoebuy by checking out these Mardi Gras – colored accessories. And, if you’ve been struggling to come up with gift ideas for me, I let you know my favorite item from each category. Purple is my favorite color, so it gets to go first:
Purple: In the celebration of Mardi Gras, purple is used to represent justice. So, if you are brave enough to wear these bold purple accessories, no one will dare treat you unjustly!
Shoes:
These heels from Paris Hilton are my favorite purple item. The color is subtle, making them playful but not over-the-top. I also love the tapered heel and detailing on the silver leather. I would wear these with party dresses or to add some glamor to everyday dark-washed skinny jeans.
Accessories:
Gold/Yellow: In the celebration of Mardi Gras, gold is used to represent power! And believe me, you’ll feel like a powerhouse yourself wearing these brave shades of gold.
Shoes:
These Boutique 9 boots are my favorite yellow item. The pictured boot’s taupe color is almost gold for the holiday, but you should really check out the Yellow Suede color for some true Mardi Gras flair! This is one of my favorite shades of yellow because it is so versatile. It is bold enough to add a splash of color to a neutral outfit, but it has enough brown undertones so that you could pair it with other jewel-toned colors without looking ridiculous.
Accessories:
This Jack Georges tote also comes in a festive Yellow.
Green: The green in Mardi Gras represents faith. Green is an odd color for shoes, so let’s all take a leap of faith and give these quirky accessories a try!
Shoes:
This flat from Jessica Simpson is my favorite green item (although the Converse sneaker is a close second). Ultimately, I had to choose this one simply because the color is so unique. I have never seen anything quite like it. Ideally, I would pair this with a voluminous floral skirt, but I guess that will have to wait for the warmer weather.
I must admit, I love Converse sneakers. I am currently in the process of slowly killing my faithful purple pair which I have had for just about 4 and a half years. They are being held together by only Shoe Goo and love. I really should buy a replacement pair, and I love these emerald green ones.
Accessories:
This olive-looking Bamboo54 tote is actually “Black”, so check out the Green as well!
Whether you are lucky enough or not to be celebrating this Mardi Gras in New Orleans, I wish you all a very happy holiday! As for me, my solitary Birthday wish is that, after work, a Funfetti Cake will be waiting for my arrival at home.
