Let Prom Season Begin!

prom091

Things are about to get fiesty in dressing rooms across the world. Prom is just a few short months away, and girls have started their endless hunt for the neccessities: a perfectly fitted and styled dress, dazzling and elegant jewelry, a reasonably sized purse, and pain-free matching shoes. The searching process is going to take a lot of time and energy, but make Shoebuy your last stop.

 Shoes

Do yourself a favor and pick out a pair of prom shoes that are both stylish and comfortable. These shoes will be with you when you are anxiously walking around, taking pictures here and there, crawling into the limo, and most importantly, dancing all night. You don’t want to be wishing for the night to end so the torturous squeezing of your toes and lack of arch support will stop.

Just to be safe, practice wearing your shoes around at home for a couple of hours several times. Often times, it takes a little wear for the blisters to start forming and for you to realize your feet can’t breathe. On the other hand, it will only take a minute for you to see if you can walk in the high heel or not. Target your problems before the big day comes, because going barefoot is just not an acceptable option!

Most important of all is to be aware of your dress while shopping for shoes. If you have a simple dress, opting for a pair of embellished shoes will really dress it up and make the outfit. But if your dress is ornate itself, stick with understated shoes. If your photographic memory is not too sharp, bring your dress along while searching so you know the shoe color and style will be just right. It’s a rarity, as well as more complicated for you, to pick shoes out first, then the dress.

Oh how perfect, a prom shoes category on Shoebuy…

  Jewelry

Yet another piece that can either make or break the outfit: jewelry. Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, anklets, etc. While you have many options, don’t go overboard. Weighing yourself down with jewelry does not always mean increasing your appearance. Sometimes all it takes is one striking necklace and you’re set. Or maybe you’d like to focus on gorgeous, detailed earrings and forget the neckwear. Be moderate in what you choose and you will find the perfect balance for your outfit.

While you need to sensibly make sure your jewels match your dress and shoes, you need to make sure they match each other also. One major fashion faux pas is mixing metals. If you choose gold, go gold all the way. And the same goes for silver. Having gold earrings with a silver necklace will clash and detract from your beauty. So match, match, and match, no matter how tedious it may be.

Check out our earrings, necklaces, or anklets, and remember to find the right balance!

 Purses

For those things  besides yourself that you need to take along to prom, you are going to need something to carry them in. Most of the time, you can get away with fitting the bare essentials in a small purse, clutch, or wristlet. Be choosy about what you bring and the smaller handbags will be efficient. Key things include cash, touch up make up, and a digital camera. If you’re trying to squeeze in nail polish, a tooth brush, and your entire make up kit, think again.

Whatever you choose, it can’t just be your day to day bag. It has to, of course, match the outfit. But not only should it match color and style wise, it should be a little fancier and more elegant to fit the ensemble and atmosphere of the night.

Glance through the categories bridal, dress, and clutches, all of which include handbags appropriate for prom.

We hope you have a safe and fun prom night!
