Shoebuy Runs in the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge
Along with over 650 other companies, Shoebuy was proud to participate in the 26th Boston J.P Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge on June 25th. This 3.5 mile road race was a sold out success raising generous donations from The J.P Morgan Chase Foundation to benefit Camp Harbor View, a day camp for inner-city youth.
Running as company teams rather than individuals, the J.P Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge uniquely encourages corporate fitness and camaraderie. Likewise, Camp Harbor View fosters a similar sense of teamwork through their curriculum based on leadership, knowledge, creativity, and fitness.
The Shoebuy Team
This year, the Shoebuy team made major improvements and had its largest turnout yet. Leading up to race day, there was lots of excitement and preparation. As Daniel described in his blog post “A Step in the Right Direction“, Shoebuy started weekly training runs sponsored by adidas and City Sports. As a result, everyone made major time improvements from last year despite running a course that was a half mile longer. After the race, the Shoebuy team went out for a well-deserved celebratory dinner. Overall, it was a great bonding experience that everyone thoroughly enjoyed, and better yet, it was all for a good cause. We look forward to next year’s Corporate Challenge.
Camp Harbor View
Founded in 2007, Camp Harbor View welcomes Boston area youth ages 11-14 to its beautiful day camp on Long Island in Boston Harbor. Not only do campers have fun, the number one rule at the camp, but they also have a great opportunity to grow. From trying new sports, like rock climbing and aquatics, to making arts and crafts, campers discover their passions and strengths with a supportive staff of counselors.
